At 9:00 a.m. on May 24, 2022, the No. 10 coke oven in the North Zone of Maanshan Iron & Steel as part of its coke oven overhaul and renovation project was ignited for drying out, marking the official start of the project’s countdown to startup. At the invitation of Maanshan Iron & Steel Group, Huatai Yongchuang’s General Manager Han Dong attended the drying-out ceremony.

As one of Maanshan Iron & Steel’s key infrastructure and technological upgrade projects under the 14th Five-Year Plan, this coke oven overhaul and upgrade project is a crucial part of its initiative to enhance the ironmaking preparation system in the North Zone. Huatai is responsible for the design and equipment procurement for the project’s supporting 2x130t/h CDQ facility, which represents another major collaboration with Maanshan Iron & Steel following the successful commissioning of the 2x140t/h CDQ project in its South Zone, which was executed by Huatai Yongchuang as the EPC contractor.

Since March, amidst the severe nationwide COVID-19 situation and the significant challenges in bringing personnel and materials onto the site, Project Manager Zou Tongfang has led the entire project team in overcoming numerous difficulties to ensure the timely delivery of equipment for the commissioning of this project. Huatai Yongchuang will continue to explore new supply methods to minimize the pandemic’s impact on the project, contributing to Maanshan Iron & Steel’s new phase of development and providing robust support for its green development and smart manufacturing initiatives.
